Is beer vegan? The short answer is usually yes. However, cruelly derived ingredients—such as milk (mostly in milk stouts) or honey—are occasionally used in it. A few beers are also clarified with the use of isinglass (made from fish bladders). But thankfully, PETA's efforts to inform brewers and consumers about these irresponsible practices are paying off. Many brands are even making the switch to non-animal testing methods—and really, beer makers should have no trouble finding human volunteers willing to down a few in the name of science!
Now you can help us toast these successes with our "Fight Passionately for Animals" Pint Glass. We've even compiled this helpful list as a resource for responsible drinkers like you who want to make sure they're not unknowingly consuming any animal-derived ingredients.
